Hi! I am Recep Karaduman. Thanks for visiting my website. I was born in Nevşehir, Turkey at 1947. After graduating high school in Bitlis, I came to Istanbul. I worked in a carpet store during my study at Tuna Journalism Academy. I am in carpet and kilim business since 1966. I have served as an expert at The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for two periods and for one period at the court.

THE STORE AND THE COLLECTION

The carpets and kilims a have collected in years are at display in my store in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. These are rugs,

• maintaining traditions and symbols of thousands of years.
• shaped by the life style of their region and time.
• designed without any professional pressure where the weaver makes the final decision about pattern and color.
• made of pure natural yarn like pure wool, goat hair, cotton and except for cotton made of yarn produced by the weaver.
• made by un-merchandised labor without calculating cost of production and market value

Although my collection predominantly consist of Anatolian rugs, it still includes samples from regions of carpet weaving tradition, such as Iran, The Caucasus, Central Asia and the Balkans.
